Last Thursday, the first fruit of the partnership between Riverstone and MyBusyMeal took the form of an evening of wine tasting and fine dining at the charming and relaxing Cantina Scoffone, truly one of Milan’s hidden gems: a venerable “bottega” whose roots date back to the 1920s, and which now plays host to regular jazz sessions and boasts an impressive selection of wine from several Italian regions in traditional demijohns. Scoffone is also a first-rate restaurant offering a new take on classic Tuscan dishes.
Robert Dennis of Riverstone and Sébastien Carraro of MyBusyMeal welcomed members of the fast-growing social dining network and Mauro of Cantina Scoffone explained the history and development of the wine shop tucked away in Via Pietro Custodi, only a stone’s throw from Piazza XXIV Maggio, which is currently undergoing some major restructuring in preparation for next year’s EXPO event.
Our guests enjoyed mouthwatering appetizers accompanied by an excellent Pinot Nero and an equally outstanding Bonardo presented by Gianluca Cabrini from the Tenuta Belvedere in Montecalvo Versiggia, an ancient village in the Oltrepò Pavese, a region famous for its wine.
Another highlight of the evening was the irresistible risotto and homemade ravioli, perfectly accompanied by Gianluca’s delicious wine.
With an impromptu rendition of some favourite standards from Scoffone’s resident pianist, Riverstone guests and MyBusyMeal members enjoyed some great networking and informal conversation in a truly magical atmosphere.
This was a highly auspicious start to what we are sure will be a great ongoing collaboration between Riverstone and MyBusyMeal. Many thanks to Mauro and his team at Scoffone, Gianluca and everyone who came to the event. We hope to see you again soon at the next BusyMeal, which will be a rooftop aperitivo at the sumptuous Hotel dei Cavalieri on 4th December at 19:30.
If you would like to attend the rooftop aperitivo at the Cavalieri or discover other BusyMeals, please visit the MyBusyMeal website and create your individual BusyCard, which will give you access to the network and allow you to make contact with other BusyPeople.
